My Approach
My approach to therapy, and to life, is rooted in person-centred philosophy. Without going into the "therapy-speak", this simply means I believe in good intentions. I believe that, more often than not, we are all just trying to doing the best we can with what we have, and whilst that helps us to survive, sometimes we develop ways of being that don't help us to thrive.
I believe that each person is the expert in their lives, and whilst they may face adversity or fall into thoughts, behaviours and patterns that no longer help them, they ultimately know deep down what is best for them. With the right environment and with enough time, I know that each of my clients can start to understand themselves and their needs better.
I believe strongly in the power of words - what we say out loud and what we tell ourselves. I am an advocate of the crucial need to be able to tell our stories, feel seen and heard, and to be the creators of our own narratives.
